When it comes to musical history and pop culture, unique items have always been on the menu for RR Auction: lawsuit depositions, albums, autographs, signed pictures and so on. The company has managed to sell countless highly desirable items over time, as it is the case for a deposition given and signed by none other than John Lennon. Unique Abraham Lincoln signed check sold by RR Auction

Back in September 2010 RR Auction managed to sell a check signed by none other than Abraham Lincoln. The Springfield Marine & Fire Insurance Company document was not only signed but also filled out by the American President. Dated on January 12, 1860 the $5 check is a testament of the kind of items RR Auction has managed to bring in front of collectors. The document is all the more valuable since it was signed on quite a busy day for Lincoln, one in which he even had to deal with a lawsuit. The check in question was nicely cloth matted and framed by the Gallery of History and a picture of Abraham Lincoln was added so that it reached 14 17.25 inches. At the time it was sold by RR Auction, the document was in fine condition, had a cancellation cut above the signature, a punch hole to the left edge and scarce, light soiling. As it was mentioned before, the check was signed on an important day for the future American President, as he also had to appear in court for a lawsuit. Apar...

There is basically no way anyone could ever mention spectacular escape acts without his name coming to mind. His untimely death was long covered in mystery, but back in October 2009 RR Auction managed to sell two unique items that somehow reveal the circumstances of his passing away. RR Auction sold two letters , one written and signed by Houdini himself and the other one by his secretary, both addressed to his attorney, Oliver Barrett. The first letter, carrying the performer’s signature talks about the lawsuit or, better said the lawsuits with spiritualist charlatans. The 8.5 X 11 letter reads: “The articles in the Examiner have not come to my attention and I am very glad you have some. If there is any information regarding the people with whom we have lawsuits, I will let you know. I met with an accident, having suffered an interior fracture of my ankle, and can do...
